Phil Weiser for Governor
As Student Programs Manager for Phil Weiser’s gubernatorial campaign, I helped lead a statewide organizing effort that activated a diverse network of student fellows and young volunteers. In this role, I managed a program of more than 70 student fellows, coordinating onboarding, logistics, and engagement to ensure that every fellow was set up for success.
Volunteer Mobilization and Impact: Under my leadership, the program knocked on over 950 doors, achieved an 18% contact rate, completed 57 shifts, and made nearly 1,000 recruitment calls in less than two months. These efforts built grassroots momentum and expanded the campaign’s presence on campuses and in local communities.
Field Operations and Training: I took on broader responsibilities in field operations, overseeing canvass recruitment, turf cutting, logistics, and weekly student meetings. To streamline training and support our fellows, I created a portable MiniVAN training resource that was deployed across campaign events.
Youth Leadership and Engagement: This position allowed me to foster a culture of political leadership among young organizers. I served as the direct point of contact between the campaign and student fellows, mentoring them in the skills needed to be effective advocates and campaign leaders.
Through this experience, I strengthened my ability to manage large-scale volunteer programs, develop innovative training tools, and drive field operations that deliver measurable results. My work with Phil Weiser for Governor deepened my commitment to building youth leadership pipelines and demonstrated the impact of student-led organizing in statewide campaigns.
