Biden’s Inaction Threatens Voting Rights Nationwide
In Fall 2021, during my sophomore year of college, the Institute for Youth in Policy (YIP) published a second opinion piece I wrote as part of my policy writing fellowship. The article aimed to build public pressure on President Biden to more forcefully urge Congress to pass federal voting rights legislation. It included quotes from former House Representative Beto O’Rourke and former HUD Secretary Julián Castro to highlight the urgency of the issue.
